What to do with Eggsy ~ the plan

It's been 19 months now since Eggsy was abandoned as a foal, chucked away by heartless owners, left to starve. 19 months since we started a GoFundMe to help with his keep as we just could not afford anymore equines but nobody else would give him a life.

Horses, ponies, equines they're a long term commitment.

So where do we go from here?

Well over the next few years, yes YEARS, Eggsy has lots of lessons to learn properly:

How to lead

To behave when tied up

To be a good boy for the farrier & for us when we pick out his feet

Patience whilst being groomed etc

How to load & unload into a horsebox / trailer

To be well behaved whilst having a bath

He also needs to have lots of adventures, to see new things, get used to crowds, new horses, traffic.

We'll be doing all of these things with him over the next few years and then when he is 4 years old he will be backed, very lightly then turned away until his 5 when he will begin his lessons as a ridden pony.

So that's the plan, Eggsy's school curriculum, nothing is written in stone, there is no forced schedule, he will be taught all he needs to know as and when he is both physically and mentally developed enough to learn.

Oh and somewhere along the line he will be gelded, we don't want anymore Gypsy stallions adding to the UK equine crisis.

Horses, ponies, equines they're a long term commitment!

About Eggsy:

Eggsy is a rescue pony he was abandoned and left to starve by his owners as a foal. His care is funded by donations.

Would you like to help Eggsy?

Eggsy has a GoFundMe campaign to help raise funds for his care, we'd be really grateful if you'd go take a look, share it far and wide via your social media and of course if you can spare some money please donate.

Thank you, Eggsy and I really appreciate it x

  1. Hello, I was wondering if Eggsypony's stifles are still locked ? I had a young foal that developed Stringhalt and then, just as I was despairing about what to do with him, I woke up one morning and he had miraculously outgrown the condition that my vet warned me that he could have for life ! He is now leading a fulfilled life as a #drivingpony for somebody else ! (I couldn't keep him as I only have 2 acres of land to keep my two ponies on ! Whatever happens to Eggsy, Best Wishes, xxx

  2. Hello Rozee, Eggsy's stifles continue to improve as he develops and we're all, vet & farrier included, fairly confident that he is going to grow out of it. Thank you for your best wishes.
